Keimyung University has been selected as the only Korean university to participate in an international art project commemorating the 100th anniversary of the premiere of the opera Turandot, and will hold a special performance at the Keimyung Art Center for two days starting March 12.
This production is a large-scale collaborative project that also commemorates the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's death, with 13 universities from four countries, including Italy's Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito di Parma, as well as institutions in the United States and China, jointly participating in the entire production process.

In particular, it is highly symbolic in that it is the first performance project to receive funding support from the European Union (EU).
A total cast of about 250 performers, including current students and graduates from Keimyung University's College of Music and Performing Arts and from the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito di Parma, will take part in the performance, presenting a spectacular concert-style stage.
The two institutions will begin full-scale part-by-part rehearsals in the second half of 2025 and are stepping up preparations with the goal of achieving a world-class level of completion.
Ha Seokbae, Dean of Keimyung University's College of Music and Performing Arts, stated, "This is a highly valuable educational project in which we work together with the Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito di Parma, a world-class educational institution, throughout the entire production process," adding, "It will provide students with practical experience on the global stage and serve as an opportunity to promote Keimyung University's cultural and artistic capabilities internationally."
Attendance at the performance will be on a first-come, first-served reservation basis. Those who wish to attend can apply for an exchange voucher for a designated seat through the administrative team of Keimyung University's College of Music and Performing Arts until 5:30 p.m. on the 27th.
