President Lee Jaemyung said on the 25th, "I am truly grateful that our Democratic Party of Korea is fulfilling its original role very well, even in these difficult circumstances."
President Lee made these remarks during a luncheon meeting with the Democratic Party of Korea's senior advisory council at the main building of the Blue House on this day, saying, "In state affairs, what is most important is to bring about tangible changes and create a better environment that the people can actually feel."
President Lee said, "Now that I am back at the Blue House, it feels like many things are becoming more stable," adding, "I am very relieved that, as our Democratic Party of Korea has newly taken power and produced visible achievements at an early stage, our people are also feeling many of these changes." He also expressed his gratitude to the attending senior advisors, saying, "It is thanks to all the hard work you have put in, and I would like to thank you once again."
President Lee went on to say, "Up until the election, we may have won by standing on one side, but from the very next moment we must pursue state affairs that integrate everyone and move forward together," adding, "From that perspective, there are still many things that are lacking." He then emphasized, "Even so, we will keep working tirelessly, and we will do our utmost so that our people can enjoy a better tomorrow than today."
President Lee also mentioned the late former Prime Minister Lee Haechan, who had been a member of the Democratic Party of Korea's senior advisory council, and mourned him by saying, "It is truly regrettable; it would have been so good if he were still with us."
Earlier in the morning of the same day, President Lee had directly shared on social media (SNS) a news article claiming that the ruling party was not properly supporting the Blue House, and refuted it by saying, "They say excessive worries are unnecessary fears." He explained, "The party should do the party's work, and the presidential office should do its own work well," adding, "There has never been a time when the president was pushed to the sidelines, nor have I ever felt that way."
