This meeting was a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the two universities in September last year and the joint venture agreement established in December to implement a joint project.

In particular, it is significant that the six-sector working-level consultative body, formed under the instructions of the president of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, has now begun its full-fledged activities.

On this day, Gyeongbuk TP presented the current status of managing its annual project budget of approximately 230 billion won and introduced its cooperation model with the central and local governments.

It also shared its know-how on infrastructure construction and operation currently being transferred to Uzbekistan, and proposed mid- to long-term cooperation plans between Korea and Mongolia.

Damdindorj Boldbator, president of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, expressed strong interest in the possibility of creating a cosmetics-focused technopark in Mongolia and in ways to promote an official development assistance (ODA) project for this purpose.

In response, Gyeongbuk TP mentioned the possibility of development through cooperation with Daegu Hanui University, and the parties agreed to build a mid- to long-term cooperation framework, including the promotion of an ODA project at the central government level.

Ha Inseong, president of Gyeongbuk TP, said, "Rather than rushing for short-term results, if the two countries take a long-term view and cooperate, good outcomes will follow," adding, "Based on Gyeongbuk TP's operational know-how, we will actively support the establishment of a technopark model optimized for Mongolia."
