In 2025, a total of 56 complaints were received and handled, including 38 grievance complaints and 18 general consultation complaints. Of all grievance complaints, 53% were resolved. For the 16% that were difficult to resolve due to legal and institutional limitations, the Ombudsman provided guidance on relevant procedures and legal provisions, and suggested reasonable courses of action.

In particular, for issues involving complex interests, the Ombudsman has been establishing itself as a system that alleviates citizens’ grievances by working to ease conflicts with the administration, such as conducting on-site inspections and holding consultations with relevant departments in parallel, and deriving points of agreement through coordination and mediation.

Sangju City Ombudsman Joo Seondong said, “We will do our utmost to look at issues from the citizens’ perspective, to substantially resolve citizens’ inconveniences through fair and transparent investigations and proactive mediation, and to enhance citizens’ trust in the administration.”

Meanwhile, the “2025 Ombudsman Operation Status Report” is available on the information disclosure bulletin board of the Sangju City website and at public institutions within the city.
