Combining with Microsoft Copilot
Leveraging internal data
Woori Bank announced on the 23rd that it has developed a generative AI-based system called "Deep Research," which automatically produces industry and corporate analysis reports by utilizing internal bank data.
"Deep Research" is an intelligent report-writing support system that, when an employee requests industry or corporate analysis, collects, links, and analyzes internal financial data to present a draft report at an expert level in a short period of time. While existing AI systems were limited to listing information, this system organically connects key internal data to derive analysis results that reflect context, and reduces the time required for data collection and organization so that employees can focus on strategic decision-making.
Woori Bank has also advanced its AI work environment by integrating Microsoft Copilot, a global general-purpose AI, with its in-house "Deep Research" solution. Microsoft Copilot has strengths in analyzing external information such as industry trends and news, whereas "Deep Research" generates optimized reports based on the bank's vast internal financial data. Woori Bank stated that by using external insights together with internal data, it has secured both sophisticated analysis and robust data security.
Woori Bank plans to further upgrade "Deep Research" and expand it into AI-agent-based services. The bank intends to broaden the scope of AI utilization across key work areas such as credit screening, asset management, and internal control, and to develop it into an "intelligent AI assistant" system that supports decision-making.
Ok Iljin, Deputy President of the AX Innovation Group at Woori Bank, said, "This development is significant in that we have secured proprietary AI capabilities optimized for Woori Bank," adding, "We will continue to expand practical, field-oriented AI services so that employees can focus on high value-added work."
Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group is promoting the expansion of productive and inclusive finance and a transition to an AX-based management system through its "Future Co-Growth Project." The group plans to enhance employees' analysis and decision-making capabilities through AI-based work innovation to strengthen corporate finance execution, while laying the foundation for productive finance through sophisticated risk management.
