"Good Shot at Night Too" Hwacheon-gun Installs Night Lighting at Yongam-ri and Sanae-myeon Park Golf Courses

County to Greatly Expand Lighting Facilities at Park Golf Courses
Number of Courses Available for Night Rounds to Increase to Three

Hwacheon-gun in Gangwon Province is significantly expanding lighting facilities at local park golf courses.

The goal is to enable park golf enthusiasts in Hwacheon to fully enjoy the sport without being constrained by time.

Starting in March, Hwacheon-gun will launch lighting tower installation projects at the Yongam-ri Park Golf Course in Hanam-myeon and the Sachang-ri Park Golf Course in Sanae-myeon.

At the Yongam Park Golf Course, four 15-meter-high lighting units will be installed, and at the Sanae Park Golf Course, seven lighting units of the same height will be installed by as early as April.

Hwacheon-gun had already installed lighting at the No. 1 course of the Sancheoneo Park Golf Course in Georye-ri, Hanam-myeon, in November 2021.

As a result, the number of courses in the Hwacheon area where park golf can be played at night is expected to increase to three within the first half of the year.

At courses equipped with lighting, people can enjoy park golf not only at night but also in the early morning.

In fact, the No. 1 course of the Sancheoneo Park Golf Course is currently operating from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Even now, many residents manage their health by playing park golf from the early hours before sunrise.

Therefore, the level of satisfaction among residents who enjoy park golf as part of their daily sports activities is expected to increase further.

Hwacheon County Mayor Choi Moonsun said, "We are doing our best to create an environment where Hwacheon residents can enjoy park golf without being restricted by time, whether before or after work."
