Four Additional Daily Round Trips from March 29... About Two Flights per Hour
Over 1,500 Extra Seats per Day... Enhancing Travel Convenience for Passengers
Jeju Air announced on February 25 that, starting March 29 when the summer schedule begins, it will increase flights on the Gimpo-Jeju route by four round trips per day.
Based on regular flights, Jeju Air currently operates up to 22 round trips per day on the Gimpo-Jeju route and will increase this by 4 to operate up to 26 round trips per day. This is the highest number of flights among airlines operating on the Gimpo-Jeju route.
With this increase, more than 1,500 additional seats per day will be added on the Gimpo-Jeju route. Jeju Air expects that, by operating this route roughly twice an hour, travel convenience for Jeju-bound tourists and Jeju residents will improve.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Aviation Information Portal System, a total of about 2,514,500 passengers used Jeju Air on the Gimpo-Jeju route last year. This accounted for 16.9% of the total 14,835,900 passengers on the Gimpo-Jeju route and was the highest figure among low-cost carriers (LCCs).
In January this year, the number of passengers on the Gimpo-Jeju route was about 227,400, a 38.6% increase from about 164,100 in January last year, and it was the largest number among LCCs.
A Jeju Air official said, “We are expanding air services so that passengers can conveniently travel between Jeju and Gimpo at their preferred times,” adding, “We will continue stable operations with safety as our top priority and do our best to broaden customers’ range of choices.”
