Financial Status, Family and Social Life Evenly Improved
Key indicators reflecting the quality of life of Seoul residents have improved overall. In particular, scores rose evenly across all detailed areas, including health status, financial status, family life, and social life.
On the 25th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the results of the "2025 Seoul Survey," which was conducted on 20,000 households. The Seoul Survey is an annual survey that the city has carried out since 2003 to understand citizens' living conditions, quality of life, and changes in values in response to changes in the social environment.

The happiness index of Seoul residents was 6.61 points, up 0.07 points from the previous year (6.54 points). Scores increased evenly across all detailed areas, including health status, financial status, family life, and social life. In particular, the share of Seoul residents satisfied with the green environment was 63.4%, an increase of 8.3 percentage points from the previous year. Overall satisfaction with the use of transportation modes in Seoul rose from 6.82 points in 2024 to 7.04 points in 2025.
Among households raising preschool children in Seoul, 90.0% responded that they were "satisfied" with care institutions (daycare centers and kindergartens), indicating a high evaluation of the quality of Seoul's care infrastructure.
Regarding how foreigners feel about living in Seoul, the categories of education, welfare, and safety received high scores.
The city analyzed that these results were influenced by the gradual improvement of the overall foundations of urban life. Kang Okhyeon, Director General of the Digital City Bureau of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "We will continue to monitor changes in daily life focusing on indicators closely related to citizens' lives, and strengthen data-based city administration by reflecting the survey results in policy design and refinement."
