Expanded from once a year to twice a year... Linking 250 local companies and recruiting buyers from 11 countries
Chungcheongnam-do Province will significantly expand its export consultation meetings by inviting a large number of major overseas buyers, in order to help local companies develop overseas sales channels.
The provincial government will shift its support toward "substantial exports" that focus on increasing the actual contract success rate, rather than one-off events.
The province announced on February 25 that it will hold the "2026 Chungcheongnam-do Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation Meeting" for two days from April 23 to 24 at Splas Resom in Deoksan-myeon, Yesan-gun.
This event, which began for the first time in 2023, invites key overseas buyers to Korea, after they are directly identified and recruited on site by the province's overseas offices.
Last year, 236 companies from the province and 90 overseas buyers participated, resulting in 700 export consultations worth 191.7 billion won and 62 export agreements worth 95.3 billion won.
Starting this year, the province will increase the number of consultation meetings from once a year to twice a year, once every half year. At each meeting, it plans to invite about 100 buyers from 11 countries and arrange consultations by matching them with 250 companies based in the province.
To this end, overseas offices in seven countries - India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Germany, Japan, China, and the United States - and trade advisors in four countries - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Australia, and Mexico - are working locally to identify "genuine buyers."
Before the consultation meetings, the province plans to provide advance information on the products of local companies and conduct credit checks on buyers, thereby increasing the likelihood of successfully concluding contracts.
Applications to participate will be accepted until February 27 through the Chungcheongnam-do online export support system.
An official from the provincial government said, "We will make thorough preparations so that companies in the province with excellent products and technologies can pioneer new overseas markets."
