"Pavane" Ranks No. 7 in Non-English Films
The drama "Lady Dua," starring actors Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk, has topped Netflix's global chart.
According to Netflix's official site "Netflix Top 10" on the 25th, the series recorded 10 million views (views are calculated by dividing total viewing hours by running time) between the 16th and the 22nd, ranking No. 1 in the Non-English TV category. By country, it swept first place in 33 countries, including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, Malaysia, and the Philippines, and entered the Top 10 in 65 countries.
"Lady Dua" depicts the elaborate psychological warfare between Sarah Kim (Shin Hye-sun), a woman who wants to become a top 1% luxury figure even if it is fake, and detective Park Mugyeong (Lee Jun-hyuk), who relentlessly tracks her desire. Its sophisticated mise-en-scene, which blurs the line between real and fake, and its fast-paced development have drawn viewers around the world into the story.
The dating reality show "Single's Inferno 5" spin-off "Single's Inferno Reunion" (1.5 million views, No. 7) has appeared on the chart for two consecutive weeks, proving the strength of K-content. The film "Pavane," starring Go A-sung, Byun Yo-han, and Moon Sang-min, secured 2 million views over the same period, placing seventh in the Non-English Films category.
