Investing Total Project Budget of 7 Billion Won with Korea SMEs and Startups Agency
Recruiting 50 Supplier Companies with Outstanding Safety Technologies
Providing Free Support to Improve Beneficiary Companies' Work Environments
KB Financial Group announced on the 25th that it is recruiting supplier companies to participate in the “Support Project for Establishing Industrial Safety at Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises,” for which a total project budget of 7 billion won will be invested together with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.
This project is being carried out as part of the “Business Agreement on Industrial Safety Support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” signed last year. It is structured to discover and foster supplier companies that possess outstanding technologies and systems in the field of industrial safety, while at the same time providing beneficiary companies (small and medium-sized enterprises) that need safety equipment and solutions with customized, free-of-charge improvements to their work environments.
Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized enterprises that possess safety accident prevention technologies related to fires, entrapment, collisions, and falls, and that have commercialized the relevant technologies or products. Through this announcement, a total of 50 supplier companies will be selected. The support scheme consists of an initial round of project funding (Phase 1) based on the supplier company’s business plan, followed by additional project funding (Phase 2) according to the project outcomes.
A “performance-based social contribution model” has also been introduced. This is intended to ensure that follow-up support for supplier companies is provided based on concrete outcomes, such as whether the matched beneficiary company’s work environment has improved and whether its safety level has been enhanced.
KB Financial Group expects that by setting clear targets and providing additional incentives to companies with high achievement rates, support can be concentrated on areas where there is a tangible effect in preventing accidents.
Interested companies can apply to the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency from today until March 11, 2026. Detailed information can be found on the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency website and on the corporate internet banking (My Page) section of KB Kookmin Bank.
