Sancheong-gun to Subsidize Travel Expenses for Overnight Tourists... Launches "Stay One Night!" Program

Expectations for Revitalizing Tourism and Reviving the Local Economy by Promoting Stay-Type Travel
Travel Incentives Offered for Small Tourist Groups

Sancheong-gun in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 25th that it will run the "Stay One Night in Sancheong!" event starting in March.

This program has been prepared to provide travel incentives to small tourist groups in order to promote stay-type tourism and to help revive the sluggish tourism industry and the local economy.

It applies to trips departing from March 1 onward, and incentive applications must be submitted in advance no later than two days before the start date of the trip.

If two or more tourists from other regions (based on resident registration) stay for at least one night in Sancheong-gun, half of their travel expenses (up to 100,000 won) will be reimbursed in Sancheong Love Gift Certificates.

If they spend at least 100,000 won after a one-night stay and visiting tourist attractions, they will receive 50,000 won in Sancheong Love Gift Certificates, and if they spend 200,000 won or more, they will receive 100,000 won. The mandatory support conditions are a minimum of one night of accommodation, at least one meal at a restaurant, and a visit to designated tourist attractions.

Only applications with a pre-submitted travel plan are accepted, and the payment application form must be submitted within seven days after the end of the trip.

Starting this year, both prior applications and payment applications are being handled through Naver Forms to improve convenience.

An official from Sancheong-gun said, "As the program received a great response last year, we hope that even more tourists will visit Sancheong this year and that it will serve as an opportunity to reinvigorate the local economy."
