107th National Winter Games Open on February 25...4,380 Participants from 17 Regions

The 107th National Winter Sports Festival (National Winter Games) will be held from February 25 to 28, 2026, across Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.


This year's event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, and organized by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. Under the slogan "A Special Winter in Gangwon, Uniting the Republic of Korea!", a total of 4,380 participants from 17 cities and provinces nationwide (2,797 athletes and 1,583 officials and staff) will take part.

The official events comprise eight disciplines: ice sports (speed skating, short track, and figure skating), skiing (alpine, cross-country, snowboarding, and freestyle), ice hockey, curling, biathlon, bobsleigh and skeleton, mountaineering, and luge.


The competitions will be held at venues including Pyeongchang Alpensia Resort (ski resort, biathlon center, and sliding center), Pyeongchang Yongpyong Resort, Pyeongchang Phoenix Park, Chuncheon Songam Ice Rink, Gangneung Hockey and Curling Center, and the Cheongsong Ice Climbing Stadium in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.


In particular, many national team athletes who performed on the stage of the 25th Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, which concluded on February 23, 2026, will compete at this festival, and they are expected to carry forward the excitement of the Winter Games.
