On February 24, Jo Sangho, preliminary candidate for Sejong mayor, officially launched the "Clean Politics Supporters' Association," chaired by five-term National Assembly member Kim Taenyeon, former floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and began full-scale fundraising.

Candidate Jo stressed, "Citizens are the owners of politics," adding, "I intend to run this election through the voluntary participation of each and every citizen, not based on specific vested interests. By raising political funds in a transparent and clean manner, I will realize politics that earns the public's trust."

He continued, "Through small-amount donations, I will seek to create a citizen-participatory political culture," and emphasized, "A modest contribution and interest of 10,000 won will become the seed that creates the true capital, Sejong."

He also said, "We will lower the threshold for donations, communicate with real citizens, and run an election for the citizens," adding, "I hope you will become shareholders of Jo Sangho and share the results over the next four years."

This supporters' association for Jo Sangho, preliminary candidate for Sejong mayor, was established in accordance with the Political Funds Act, and donations are raised only within the statutory limits. The association plans to continue fundraising during the preliminary candidacy period, setting an initial target of 150 million won.

Meanwhile, individuals may donate within the annual statutory limit, and all contributions will be transparently disclosed to the National Election Commission. The funds raised will be used for policy development, publicity activities, and other needs for this local election campaign.

Jo Sangho has previously served as a member of the State Affairs Planning Advisory Committee for the Lee Jaemyung administration, head of political coordination at the office of Democratic Party of Korea leader Lee Haechan, vice mayor for economic affairs of Sejong Special Self-Governing City, member of the National Economic Advisory Council of the Democratic Party of Korea, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute of the Democratic Party of Korea, and aide to National Assembly member Lee Haechan.

He is currently serving as vice chair of the Special Committee on Balanced National Development of the Democratic Party of Korea.
