Former Korea Appraisal Board Site in Samseong-dong, Detailed Development Plan Conditionally Approved

The detailed development plan has been approved as the former Korea Appraisal Board site in Samseong-dong is set to be reborn as a 38-story global business hub.

On the 25th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that at the 3rd Urban Architecture Joint Committee meeting, it had conditionally approved the "Decision on the Detailed Development Plan for the Special Planning District on the Former Korea Appraisal Board Site within the District Unit Planning Zone of the International Exchange Complex District."

The project site is the former Korea Appraisal Board site located at 171-2 Samseong-dong, situated at the heart of the International Exchange Complex District. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has established an urban management plan to develop the site into a hub space that concentrates international work, business, and cultural functions.

This development plan is designed to enable the area to function as a central hub of the International Exchange Complex District by creating a space that combines international work, business, and cultural functions, while also securing rest and viewing spaces for citizens.

The Urban Architecture Joint Committee conducted a comprehensive review focused on the plans derived through prior negotiations, examining the validity of changes to the urban management plan, the rationality and landscape of the architectural plan, public contributions, and the connectivity between pedestrian flows and open spaces.

Based on the review results of the Urban Architecture Joint Committee, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to incorporate the conditions presented by the committee into the plan and to proceed step by step with follow-up procedures so that the public contribution items derived from prior negotiations can be effectively implemented.

Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced last year that this site would be developed into a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) and cultural complex space with 7 basement levels and 38 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 126,536 square meters. Completion is targeted for 2031.
