Mirae Asset Securities announced on the 24th that it will carry out shareholder returns totaling approximately 635.4 billion won, the largest in its history.
On this day, Mirae Asset Securities held a board meeting and resolved to implement cash and stock dividends, cancel treasury shares, and appoint a new outside director.
The total dividend amount was set at approximately 174.4 billion won in cash dividends (300 won per common share) and approximately 290.9 billion won in stock dividends (shares equivalent to 500 won per common share), for a total of 465.3 billion won.
Based on the closing price on the day before the board meeting, this is more than three times the previous year's cash dividend amount of 146.7 billion won.
The record date for the dividend is March 17, and the company plans to pay the cash and stock dividends within one month after approval at the regular general meeting of shareholders on March 24.
The cancellation of treasury shares will cover approximately 11.77 million common shares and approximately 180,000 Class 2 preferred shares. Including the amount corresponding to the approximately 4.05 million common and preferred shares canceled in November last year, Mirae Asset Securities explained that the total cancellation will amount to about 170.1 billion won.
Accordingly, the total shareholder return for Mirae Asset Securities in the 2025 fiscal year will reach approximately 635.4 billion won, and given that its net income is about 1.5 trillion won, the shareholder return ratio will be around 40%, the company emphasized.
At the board meeting, the directors also resolved an agenda item to appoint Ahn Soo-hyun as a new outside director and audit committee member. Ahn Soo-hyun, the outside director nominee, is currently the dean of the Law School at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and is recognized as a leading expert in law and financial consumer protection, serving as a member of the consumer division at the Financial Supervisory Service and a non-executive director at the Digital Asset Protection Foundation, among other roles.
