Sinan-gun in South Jeolla Province has launched job training for supervisors to prevent serious accidents, moving to strengthen on-site safety management systems.

Sinan-gun announced that from February 23, it conducted job training on serious accident prevention for a total of 99 supervisors over two sessions.

This training was organized as the legal responsibilities and roles of supervisors have been further strengthened following the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. It was structured as practice-oriented training to enhance on-site safety management capabilities and to prevent industrial accidents in advance, with a focus on improving response capabilities that can be applied to worksites immediately.

The Korea Industrial Safety Association Jeonnam Branch was in charge of the training. The main topics included: key provisions of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act; prevention of fire and explosion accidents and emergency evacuation procedures; core duties of supervisors; risk assessment procedures and implementation methods; and seasonal worker health management.

An official from Sinan-gun stated, "Supervisors are key personnel who are responsible for worker safety on the front lines," adding, "Taking this training as an opportunity, we will further strengthen safety awareness and continuously establish effective safety management systems to do our utmost to achieve 'ZERO Serious Accidents'."
