Cheongdo Culture Center Holds Inauguration and Retirement Ceremony for 12th and 13th Directors, Presenting Vision for "Cultural City Cheongdo"

On February 24, the Cheongdo Culture Center held an inauguration and retirement ceremony for its 12th and 13th directors at the multipurpose hall of the Cheongdo-gun Youth Training Center, declaring a new leap forward for the succession and development of local culture.


About 200 people attended the event, including Cheongdo County Mayor Kim Hasu, heads of major local institutions and organizations, officials from the culture center, and figures from the cultural and arts community, adding significance to the occasion.

The ceremony was organized to recognize the dedication of former Director Kim Jongbong, who devoted himself to the development of local culture during his term, and to celebrate the inauguration of the new director, Park Sunyeol.


In his farewell address, former Director Kim Jongbong said, "The Cheongdo Culture Center is a valuable cultural community that has inherited the history and traditions of the region and grown together with the residents," and added, "I hope the center will continue to stand at the heart of the community and play a role in enhancing the pride of our residents."


Newly inaugurated Director Park Sunyeol stated, "The culture center is not just a cultural facility, but a central pillar that protects and passes down the history and spirit of the region," and continued, "In addition to preserving and succeeding our traditional culture, we will discover new cultural content that responds to the changing times and create an open culture center that breathes together with the residents."


He also said, "By expanding cultural and arts education, revitalizing everyday culture, and strengthening the foundation for cultural participation among teenagers and young adults, we will make Cheongdo a place where culture becomes part of daily life," and emphasized, "I ask for active interest and participation from local cultural and arts figures, organizations, and all residents."


The attendees wished together for a new leap forward for the Cheongdo Culture Center and the development of local culture, and gave a round of enthusiastic applause in support of the new director's start.


In his congratulatory remarks, Cheongdo County Mayor Kim Hasu said, "The Cheongdo Culture Center is a valuable cultural hub that preserves the history and traditions of our region," and added, "I hope that, on the occasion of this inauguration and retirement ceremony, the role of the center will be further expanded so that Cheongdo can take another step forward as a cultural city where residents enjoy culture in their daily lives."


He went on to say, "The county government will spare no administrative and financial support to expand the cultural and arts infrastructure and to invigorate the culture center."
