Goseong-gun Secures 55 Billion Won Investment to Lead Future Strategic Industries

Agreement Signed with NDT Engineering and Ara
Accelerating Job Creation and Revitalization of the Local Economy

Goseong-gun in South Gyeongsang Province has secured a large-scale investment totaling 55 billion won to strengthen the competitiveness of the unmanned aerial vehicle industry, a future strategic sector, and the shipbuilding industry, the region’s key industry.

On the 23rd, the county signed an investment agreement at the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government with Gyeongsangnam-do Province, NDT Engineering (45 billion won), and Ara (10 billion won). The signing ceremony was attended by Goseong County Mayor Lee Sang-geun, South Gyeongsang Province Governor Park Wansu, the heads of nine cities and counties, and representatives of 19 companies. They strengthened a cooperation framework aimed at enhancing industrial competitiveness across South Gyeongsang Province and fostering joint growth between businesses and local communities.


NDT Engineering is an aircraft parts manufacturing specialist. The company plans to invest 45 billion won by 2029 to build a vertiport and a pre-delivery testing, manufacturing, and shipping hub to establish a tourism-oriented UAM utilization base on a 33,058-square-meter site within the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Complex Town in Donghae-myeon. It also plans to hire more than 120 new employees, giving hiring priority to residents of Goseong-gun. This investment is expected to serve as a major turning point for Goseong-gun as it seeks to emerge as a leading domestic hub city for the unmanned aerial vehicle industry.


Ara is a ship equipment manufacturing company. It plans to invest 10 billion won by 2029 to build a new ship equipment and hydropower facility manufacturing plant on a 14,361-square-meter site in the Sesong Agro-Industrial Complex in Goseong-eup. The company plans to hire more than 30 new employees, with priority given to local residents. The county expects this investment to inject vitality into the regional industrial structure, in which ship equipment accounts for a large share, and to further strengthen the overall competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry.


An official from Goseong-gun said, "We are deeply grateful to NDT Engineering Co., Ltd. and Ara Co., Ltd. for deciding to invest in our county," adding, "We will further solidify our cooperation system so that businesses and the region can grow together, and we will spare no administrative support to help Goseong establish itself as a core hub for the unmanned aerial vehicle and shipbuilding industries."
