On the 24th, Song Eonseok, floor leader of the People Power Party, denounced the three judicial reform bills being pushed by the ruling party (the Constitutional Complaint Act, the Criminalization of Judicial Distortion Act, and the Supreme Court Justice Expansion Act) as "a clear violation of the Constitution," saying, "They claim this is judicial reform, but this is a misuse of language that sullies the word 'reform' and constitutes a crime against history."

That morning, attending a parliamentary strategy meeting held at the National Assembly, Floor Leader Song stated, "The executive branch seizing control of the legislative and judicial branches is something that happens only in totalitarian states such as Hitler's Germany and Chavez's Venezuela."
Regarding these bills, Floor Leader Song said, "Not only is the academic community opposed, but even the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has personally stepped forward to plead against them," and asked, "Is it appropriate for 163 Democratic Party of Korea lawmakers to hold a closed-door discussion in a general assembly of their members on a matter of grave national importance without properly gathering public opinion? Can this be called modern democracy?"
Floor Leader Song went on to criticize the National Referendum Act, which had been railroaded through the Public Administration and Security Committee and the Legislation and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly the previous night, saying, "When they initially argued that the National Referendum Act had to be revised, they explained the reason as the fact that more than 10 years had passed since it was ruled unconstitutional without any amendment being made, but that was nothing more than a flimsy pretext," and added, "The amendment includes provisions designed to gag others to suit their own tastes, including the expansion of the powers of the National Election Commission."
Floor Leader Song said, "The fact that such laws are to be placed on the agenda of the plenary session starting today and then unilaterally rammed through is an insult to the people," and "I once again strongly urge that this be stopped immediately."
