Toyota Korea Sponsors Superrace Championship for Seventh Consecutive Year

Seven-Year Sponsorship Partnership Since 2020
Leading the Vitalization of Korea's Motorsports Culture

Toyota Korea announced on the 24th that it has signed an official sponsorship agreement for the 2026 season of the O-NE Superrace Championship, the largest motorsports competition in Korea.

Toyota Korea has participated since 2020 as a cowl sponsor, applying the exterior design of the GR Supra to racing cars in the Super 6000 class. Starting from the 2025 season, it expanded its participation to become the official naming sponsor, steadily strengthening the partnership.

Based on its global philosophy of "making ever-better cars through motorsports," Toyota Korea is carrying out a variety of activities to invigorate motorsports culture. While supporting top-tier professional racing competitions, it has also launched the Prius PHEV Class, the only plug-in hybrid one-make race in Korea, thereby securing diversity that spans both professional and amateur racing and promoting the appeal of motorsports.

In addition, to help establish a grassroots motorsports culture, the company sponsors the Boryeong AMC International Motor Festival operated by Ajou Motor College, and is working to expand car culture in connection with local communities. It has also been running various programs such as the GR Racing Class and the GR Kids Superrace School so that anyone can enjoy motorsports.

From the 2026 season, the Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 class will introduce the fastest races in its history through major regulatory changes. The final race distance will be shortened from the current 170 km to around 100 km, which is expected to deliver an intense and gripping race from start to finish without any dragging segments for spectators.

Furthermore, to ensure a pure contest of driver skill, the success weight (handicap weight) system will be completely abolished. The removal of weight penalties of up to 50 kg that were previously imposed based on results will allow drivers to extract the maximum performance from their cars and deliver spectacular battles. At the same time, the prize money and reward structure will be enhanced to encourage drivers to take a more aggressive approach to racing.

Manabu Konyama, CEO of Toyota Korea, said, "As a brand with a genuine commitment to motorsports, we are very pleased to participate as a sponsor of the O-NE Superrace Championship for the seventh consecutive year," adding, "Through this faster and more fiercely competitive season, we hope that Toyota Gazoo Racing's pursuit of 'pushing the limits' and 'the joy of driving' will be vividly conveyed to customers in Korea."

Meanwhile, the 2026 Superrace Championship season will open with a double round at the Yongin Everland Speedway from April 18 to 19. At the upcoming Round 3, the Asia Motorsports Carnival and Park Music Festival, one of Korea's leading music festivals, are scheduled to be held simultaneously.
