KCC Corporation's large-format Seokgotex PLUS ceiling material has been selected as the ceiling material for GS25 convenience stores.

KCC Corporation announced on the 24th that it has signed a contract with GS Retail to supply large-format Seokgotex as ceiling material for new and renovated GS25 stores throughout this year. Seokgotex is a non-combustible ceiling finishing material made primarily from gypsum and is widely used in commercial and public facilities. Compared to existing products, KCC Corporation's large-format Seokgotex has enhanced strength, expanded the panel size by 2.25 times, and increased installation speed by approximately 1.8 times. When applying Seokgotex to ceilings, a steel frame structure must be installed and the panels must be fixed with screws. Thanks to the large-format design, the amount of steel framing and the number of screws required can be reduced, which lowers material usage and significantly increases work speed.

KCC Corporation explained that, in addition to improving work efficiency, the product minimizes joints, making it possible to create a cleaner-looking space. It also ensures safety, having obtained the top grade of the eco-friendly building material "HB Mark" certified by the Korea Air Cleaning Association. GS25 adopted the material after verifying its effectiveness through test installations.

Since August last year, KCC Corporation has been conducting mock-up installations using large-format Seokgotex to verify construction quality and on-site applicability. Construction companies have also responded positively, saying they clearly feel improvements in work convenience and efficiency. In particular, despite being a large-format material, it has been evaluated as highly practical because it can be sufficiently installed by a single worker.

During the product evaluation process, GS25 focused on the construction period reduction proposed by KCC Corporation and the fact that multiple construction processes can be completed within a single day. The company plans to consider applying the material to GS The Fresh stores in the future.

When the lighting layout is designed to match the Seokgotex panel dimensions, the spacing between lights can be widened from the existing 1,200 mm to 1,500 mm, reducing the number of lighting fixtures required. This is expected to save electrical energy and help improve store operation efficiency.
