An Open Lounge Accessible to Everyone

The Seongnam Commercial District Revitalization Foundation (Chairman Shin Sangjin) has newly created the second-floor space “Yeollim Swimteo” at Seongnam Jungang Gongseol Market as an area that all generations can use together, in order to provide a pleasant rest area for citizens and merchants visiting the market.

The existing senior-centered lounge has been converted into an open rest area, and a “Family Zone” for children and family visitors has been set up so that people can relax comfortably while using the market.

Yeollim Swimteo is equipped with basic rest facilities such as chairs and tables, and it is operated as a space where not only market users but also local residents and merchants can stay together and interact.

In particular, 100 books provided by Sujeong Library have been placed so that visitors can naturally enjoy reading while taking a break. The collection consists of children’s books and adult books, improving convenience for family visitors, and it is expected to help spread a reading culture and increase the amount of time people spend at the traditional market.

A foundation official said, “With the support of Sujeong Library, a meaningful space has been created in the market where people can enjoy both rest and reading,” adding, “We hope that Yeollim Swimteo will establish itself not just as a simple rest area, but as a space where citizens and merchants stay together.”
