Gyeonggi Province to Provide 8.6 Billion Won in Wage Subsidies to Social Enterprises Employing Vulnerable Groups

Gyeonggi Province will provide a total of 8.6 billion won in wage subsidies to social enterprises that employ vulnerable groups.


Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it will be accepting applications until March 6 this year from companies wishing to participate in the "Social Enterprise Job Creation Support Program."


The Job Creation Support Program is a project that subsidizes part of labor costs in order to provide stable jobs for vulnerable groups and strengthen the self-reliance base of social enterprises. Its purpose is to go beyond employment support and simultaneously promote sustainable growth of companies and the realization of social value.

Gyeonggi Province provided 5.1 billion won last year in wage subsidies for 457 workers at 194 (preliminary) social enterprises. This year, with the inclusion of central government funding, the total support amount has increased to 8.6 billion won.


Song Eunsil, Director General of Social Innovation and Economy at Gyeonggi Province, said, "The Social Enterprise Job Creation Support Program is a policy that simultaneously supports stable employment for vulnerable groups and the expansion of community services," adding, "We will build a structure in which social value and economic performance circulate together."
