This event, held under the theme "Fiery Shouts, the Nation's Aspirations, and the Fluttering Taegeukgi," has become one of the district's representative March 1st Independence Movement Day events and has continued for four years since the district installed the super-large Taegeukgi flagpole in 2023.

The event will begin with a pre-ceremony performance, followed by a super-large Taegeukgi flag-raising performance, congratulatory remarks by independence patriots, celebratory performances, and three cheers of "Manse." It will open with the Songpa-gu Boys and Girls Choir singing the "March 1st Song," followed by the 52nd Division military band playing the national anthem and a flag-raising ceremony with the participation of the military color guard. Then, students from Hanlim Arts High School will present a performance that expresses the future of the Republic of Korea through songs and a Taegeukgi performance.

For the final part of the event, about 200 residents of the district, including independence patriots and their descendants, will gather in one place to shout three cheers of "Manse," reenacting the historic moments of the March 1st Independence Movement 107 years ago.

At the Garak Market four-way intersection, the 55m super-large Taegeukgi, the tallest in Seoul, a cluster of 60 Taegeukgi flags, and a 33m-tall urban artwork titled "Super-large Trophy" together have turned the area into a "Taegeukgi landmark." In recognition of its efforts to promote national symbols, Songpa-gu received the Presidential Citation in the "2023 National Symbol Promotion Merit Awards" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Songpa-gu District Mayor Seo Kangseok said, "Through the annual March 1st Independence Movement Day super-large Taegeukgi flag-raising ceremony, we will remember the noble spirit of independence of the patriotic martyrs," adding, "We will continue to show respect and courtesy to those who devoted themselves to the nation and pursue an administration that serves residents as its true owners."
