The Geumsan-gun Agricultural Technology Center is accepting applications for the 2026 Gwinong Gwichon Daehak program until the 27th to support successful settlement in rural areas for prospective farmers and new residents who wish to return to farming and rural life.

This year's Gwinong Gwichon Daehak will run a total of 20 sessions from March to November, combining theoretical education and field training at the education center of the Geumsan-gun Agricultural Technology Center and at leading farms in the region.

The curriculum consists of farming techniques, basic start-up training, field practice, and site visits, with a focus on enhancing understanding of agriculture as a whole and strengthening practical farming capabilities.

In particular, to minimize inconveniences and trial and error that urban residents may experience when relocating to rural areas, the program plans to help participants understand and overcome cultural differences between urban and rural communities, thereby promoting successful and stable settlement in the countryside.

Eligible applicants are new returnees to farming and rural areas, including those who have moved into Geumsan-gun within the last five years, people planning to return to farming, and non-farming residents currently living in rural areas. Applicants must prepare the required documents and submit them to the Return-to-Farming Education Team in the Smart Farming Division of the Geumsan-gun Agricultural Technology Center.

An official from the county said, "Gwinong Gwichon Daehak is more than just an educational program; it is a practical support initiative that helps participants settle stably into the local community," adding, "We hope for strong interest and active participation from those preparing to return to farming."
