Lee Sanggil (62), former Administrative Deputy Mayor of Daegu, is running for Mayor of Buk-gu District in Daegu.
On the 23rd, Lee stated that he will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on the 24th at the People Power Party Daegu Metropolitan City Chapter in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, to announce his candidacy for Mayor of Buk-gu District in Daegu.
At this event, he plans to introduce himself as “a figure who has led organizational management, policy coordination, and on-site administration in a comprehensive manner while working for more than 30 years at Daegu City Hall and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety,” and emphasize that “Buk-gu District in Daegu is at a point where it needs strategies to enhance the city’s competitiveness, rather than simple management.”
After passing the Higher Civil Service Examination in 1991, Lee spent over 30 years leading administrative operations, serving as Head of the Sports Division of Daegu City, Director of Policy Planning, Director of Fiscal Management at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Director-General for Local Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Director-General of Planning and Coordination at Daegu City, and Administrative Deputy Mayor. After leaving public office, he served as CEO of EXCO and is currently the full-time Vice Chairman of the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
