Gangwon Provincial Office Of Education Launches 2027 College Admissions Counseling...Training Held For Third-Year Homeroom Teachers Gangwon Provincial Office of Education announced on the 23rd that, as support for 2027 college admissions begins in earnest, it is conducting the "2026 Academic Year High School Third-Year Teachers College Admissions Capacity-Building Training" to strengthen the college guidance capabilities of third-year homeroom (department head) teachers at provincial high schools. Provided by the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education.

This training has been prepared to proactively respond to changing college admissions procedures and to systematically enhance the professionalism of college counseling in schools. In particular, based on an analysis of the 2026 college admissions results, it will focus on supporting the design of a practical roadmap for college counseling so that schools can prepare for the 2027 admissions.

The training will be divided into the Yeongdong region (23rd-24th) and the Yeongseo region (24th-25th), and each will be conducted as a one-night, two-day program. Approximately 400 participants are expected to attend, including homeroom (department head) teachers of third-year students from 85 general high schools in the province, supervisors in charge of college admissions at the local offices of education, and college admissions counseling specialists.

The main content consists of: analysis of implications from the 2026 college admissions results; guidance on the 2027 college admissions procedures; practical evaluation and guidance methods for the comprehensive student record screening; sharing of college counseling cases based on school examples; and a special lecture by a university admissions officer. The total training time is 8 hours.

In particular, classes will be divided according to the teachers’ experience in college counseling, thereby strengthening basic competencies for teachers who are beginning college counseling and, at the same time, enhancing the ability of experienced teachers to respond to changes in the admissions system. The program also plans to strengthen customized college counseling capabilities and to reinforce on-site cooperation networks by operating consultative bodies by region and by school.

In addition, by inviting an admissions officer from Seoul National University of Science and Technology to deliver a special lecture on the “Outlook for the 2027 College Admissions” based on the 2026 admissions results, the program will provide practical and concrete admissions information in connection with universities.

Han Yuseon, Director of Education, said, “In the midst of changes in the college admissions system, teachers’ professionalism and cooperation are more important than anything else,” and added, “We will continue to provide support so that this training can raise the college counseling capabilities of schools to the next level and serve as a foundation for closely supporting each student’s career and college planning.”
