A total of 11 board members attended the regular board meeting that day. To enable the swift rollout of volunteer activities, the meeting was held about one month earlier than in previous years, launching efficient and systematic preparations for the center's projects. Starting with the presentation of the letter of appointment to the new auditor, the board proceeded to review: ▲ the 2025 project performance and budget settlement (including the auditor's report), ▲ the draft 2026 business plan and budget, and ▲ the draft selection of outstanding volunteer group programs for 2026.
In particular, regarding the selection of outstanding volunteer group programs for 2026, projects from a total of 20 groups were submitted as agenda items, and programs in various fields that reflect local characteristics and resident needs were discussed. The center plans to identify and support outstanding volunteer programs that provide tangible benefits to the local community through a fair deliberation process.
The regular general meeting that followed was attended by about 30 members. County Mayor Seo Taewon extended New Year's greetings to the participants and said, "I would like to thank you for your cooperation in volunteer activities for the Provincial Sports Festival and flood recovery last year, and I ask for your continued participation in volunteer activities supported by the center this year."
Meanwhile, the general meeting reviewed ▲ the agenda item on the approval of the 2025 budget and settlement, and ▲ the agenda item on the approval of the 2026 business plan and budget for the Volunteer Center, and both items were approved as originally drafted. Through this, the center officially shared last year's project achievements and finalized the financial and administrative foundation for promoting projects in 2026.
Center Director Lee Myeongyeol, who attended the meeting, also stated, "By discovering and supporting outstanding programs, we will further vitalize volunteer activities that fit the characteristics of the region, and through field-oriented project management, we will create a volunteer environment that county residents can truly feel."
Meanwhile, the Gapyeong County Volunteer Center plans to work on building a local community where sharing and practice become part of everyday life by promoting regionally tailored volunteer projects and strengthening its networks.
