BJFEZ Authority Recruiting Participants for First-Half BJFEZ Insight Trip

From Promotion Hall and District Tours to Company Visits... Regularizing Advanced Industrial Site Experiences for Youth

The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Park Sungho, hereinafter BJFEZ Authority) will recruit universities (departments) and university students in February 2026 for participation in the “First Half of 2026 BJFEZ Insight Trip,” which offers local youth the opportunity to directly experience advanced industrial sites.

The “BJFEZ Insight Trip” is a program designed in recognition of the fact that, although the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ) is a key pillar of the southeastern region’s economy, awareness and access to information among young people remain limited. The title carries the meaning that “young people who will lead the future gain deep insight at the BJFEZ site (in-site).”

Last year, the program was piloted for local university students from institutions such as Changwon National University, Inje University, and Dong-Eui University, receiving a very positive response, and starting this year it will be operated in earnest as a regular program.

The program consists of: ▲ a tour of the promotion hall (about 30 minutes), ▲ a tour of major BJFEZ districts (about 90 minutes), and ▲ on-site visits to companies (about 30 minutes). In particular, by reflecting last year’s participant satisfaction survey results and suggestions for improvement, the district tour has been redesigned as a storytelling-type course encompassing “history, culture, and industry” to increase engagement.

In addition, the course is designed so that, in connection with participants’ majors, they visit representative companies in the four core strategic industries: ▲ complex logistics, ▲ smart mobility, ▲ advanced materials, parts, and equipment, and ▲ bio-healthcare, enabling them to experience industrial sites more vividly.

Commissioner Park Sungho said, “The Insight Trip will be an opportunity for young people to directly feel the dynamism of industrial sites that they cannot learn from books,” adding, “We will work to create a BJFEZ where young people can stay, work, and grow by strengthening linkages with local universities and companies.”

This recruitment will take place ahead of the operation of the first-half 2026 program and is aimed at students enrolled in relevant departments at universities (including high schools) located in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Application methods, detailed schedules, and operating courses can be found on the BJFEZ Authority’s website and in the guidance materials.
