"We're Open Until 9 p.m. on Weeknights"...Hana Bank Launches Specialized Branches

Expansion Starting with Jamsilsaenae Station Financial Center Branch and Isu Station Branch

Hana Bank announced on February 23 that it will begin operating “Hana 9 o'clock Lounge,” a night-time specialized flexible branch where customers can receive consultations and handle banking work until 9 p.m. on weekdays.

"We're Open Until 9 p.m. on Weeknights"...Hana Bank Launches Specialized Branches

This is a “9 to 9” branch that operates until 9 p.m., going beyond the constraints of the existing branch hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. It has been introduced to improve convenience for office workers and small business owners who find it difficult to visit branches during daytime hours on weekdays.

“Hana 9 o'clock Lounge” will first be implemented at the Jamsilsaenae Station Financial Center Branch and the Isu Station Branch, where there is a large floating population of office workers and many small business sites clustered together, creating strong demand for the use of automated corners.

The lounge will operate as a digital unmanned branch based on video consultations, and will be equipped with Conversational ITMs (Interactive Teller Machines), enabling real-time communication and consultation with bank staff via video. Customers will be able to handle major financial work such as: opening and renewing deposit and savings accounts; filing various notifications and reports; simple consultations on personal loans; signing up for and changing internet and smartphone banking and other electronic financial services; issuing and registering OTP tokens and security cards; and issuing check cards.

To improve access and convenience for digitally vulnerable customers, such as elderly people who are not familiar with using unmanned lounges, dedicated concierges will be stationed to assist with usage guidance. In addition to ITMs, “Smart Teller Machines (STMs)” and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) will also be installed, allowing customers to handle everyday financial work such as opening and reissuing passbooks for deposits and withdrawals, transferring funds between accounts, and paying utility bills.

A representative from Hana Bank’s Channel Strategy Department stated, “This measure is intended to allow customers to conveniently handle their banking work at the time they want, in line with their own lifestyle patterns, even after regular banking hours,” adding, “Starting with the operation of these two branches, we will continue to expand night-time specialized flexible branches in areas centered on office workers and small business owners.”
