The recruitment covers a total of three programs: two at the BIO Agricultural College (New Agriculture Program and Smart Agriculture Program) and one at the BIO Agricultural Graduate School (Future Agriculture Program), with 20 students to be selected for each program.

The courses will begin on April 15, be held once a week, and run for up to 90 hours in total. They will be conducted as a systematic curriculum that combines theory and practical training.

The New Agriculture Program comprehensively covers basic agricultural theories such as crop science, crop cultivation, and soil science, as well as crop cultivation techniques, soil management, pest and disease control, and farm management, with a focus on supporting stable settlement in farming.

The Smart Agriculture Program focuses on advanced agricultural technologies suited to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including understanding smart agriculture, utilizing crop growth data, and hands-on training in automation using IoT technology.

The Future Agriculture Program is designed as an advanced course that provides education on the value of future agriculture, practical training in the use of artificial intelligence, agricultural management and marketing, and agricultural start-up technologies.

Since 2006, the city has been operating the Yangju-si BIO Agricultural College and has produced 1,541 graduates to date. This year's curriculum has been reorganized into a step-by-step, customized education system that reflects rapidly changing agricultural trends, focusing on basic settlement, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the establishment of future strategies.

In particular, the city plans to place emphasis on strengthening practical competencies by significantly expanding hands-on training courses such as the use of IoT technology and artificial intelligence.

Citizens who wish to apply can download the application form from the Yangju-si Agricultural Technology Center website and submit it in person to the Rural Resources Division, or by email (sangsuc@korea.kr) or postal mail.

An official from Yangju-si said, "The year 2026 will be an important turning point for 'K-Agriculture' in responding to the climate crisis and digital transformation," adding, "We look forward to the active participation of passionate citizens who will enhance the competitiveness of agriculture in Yangju-si and create high added value."
