The city has assessed the situation in neighboring areas as serious and has begun emergency preventive vaccinations for cattle and goat farms within its jurisdiction to preemptively block the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.

To ensure the smooth distribution of vaccines, the city will promptly supply vaccines to eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers and mobilize commissioned veterinarians to carry out simultaneous vaccinations for a total of 479 cattle and goat farms in the city from February 23 to March 15. In addition, the city will actively provide guidance on foot-and-mouth disease vaccination procedures to ensure safe inoculations and will strengthen on-site quarantine management.

An official from Pocheon City stated, "Since foot-and-mouth disease has occurred in the Seoul metropolitan area, we cannot rule out the possibility of it entering our region, and the situation is very serious," adding, "We will prevent its spread through preemptive, simultaneous vaccinations and blocking quarantine measures."

The official added, "Above all, it is crucial for farmers to maintain their own quarantine awareness," and urged, "Please make sure to complete vaccinations so that no animals are left out, and strictly observe basic quarantine rules such as disinfection inside and outside the farm."
