The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Im Taehee) appointed 1,085 members to the "2026 School Violence Countermeasure Deliberation Committee" on the 20th, strengthening a fair and professional deliberation system for school violence cases.

In accordance with the Act on the Prevention of and Countermeasures Against Violence in Schools, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education formed the committee with experts from various fields, including teachers, legal professionals, police officers, and youth counselors, thereby ensuring the committee's expertise and objectivity.
In particular, through a rigorous selection process that included document screening, competency assessments on expertise and fairness, and in-depth interviews, the office appointed capable members who can faithfully implement educational resolutions focused on protecting victimized students and guiding offending students.
In addition, on the 23rd, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held the "2026 First Half School Violence Countermeasure Deliberation Committee Subcommittee Chair Capacity-Building Training" at Novotel Suwon. Attended by more than 200 subcommittee chairs, the training covered topics such as leadership in meeting management, understanding of case-handling procedures and relevant laws and regulations, analysis of precedents and administrative appeal cases, and proposals for system improvement.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education plans to strengthen the fairness and reliability of the deliberation committee and to establish a deliberation culture that prioritizes the protection of victimized students and focuses on restoring relationships among the students involved.
Kim Younggyu, Director of the Student Life Education Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, said, "In school violence cases, fair and professional judgment is more important than anything else," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the competencies of committee members and build a deliberation system that school community members can trust."
