KOSDAQ-listed company Edgefoundry (co-CEOs Nam Yonghyun and Park Chanyoung) announced on the 23rd that it will participate in Asia's largest drone exhibition, "DSK (Drone Show Korea) 2026," to be held at BEXCO in Busan from the 25th to the 27th, where it will unveil its next-generation AI observation drone solution.
This year's DSK 2026 will feature companies from 18 countries around the world, and the focus has shifted beyond simple unmanned flight to "AI-based convergence technologies" and "localization of components." In line with this trend, Edgefoundry has begun targeting the market by showcasing an advanced observation drone equipped with "Thermo K," a non-cooled thermal imaging camera module independently developed using entirely domestically produced technology.
At this exhibition, Edgefoundry plans to demonstrate the core technology of its "EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) composite observation system," which can precisely recognize targets even at night and in adverse weather conditions. In particular, "Thermo K" is evaluated as an optimized module for drone integration, having achieved overwhelming cost competitiveness and reduced size and weight compared with existing high-cost cooled products through CMOS process compatibility and wafer-level packaging (WLP) technology.
In addition, in line with "AI convergence," the core theme of DSK 2026, the company highlighted synergies with its partners. Edgefoundry has established strategic collaborations with "Deepr Eye," an AI semiconductor fabless company, and "AMP," an industrial drone platform provider. Edgefoundry plans to introduce a next-generation intelligent drone surveillance system in which Deepr Eye's on-device AI is combined with Edgefoundry's thermal imaging module, enabling the drone itself to detect anomalies in real time without any separate server communication delays.
Edgefoundry recently completed successful proof-of-concept tests of its AI observation drones as part of its strategy to specialize in the drone business for differentiated market positioning. Starting with this exhibition, the company intends to fully establish a leading position in the market for observation drone components used in public missions such as military reconnaissance, disaster monitoring, and environmental monitoring.
An Edgefoundry representative stated, "DSK 2026 is the optimal stage to prove Edgefoundry's domestically developed thermal imaging module technology and AI convergence capabilities to domestic and overseas buyers," adding, "We aim to establish ourselves as a key component supplier in the high-performance observation drone market and accelerate our entry into the global defense and public surveillance markets."
