This memorandum of understanding aims to establish a more systematic, region-centered educational cooperation system by linking the Paju Future Education Cooperation District project, whose agreement period ends in February this year, with the "Gyeonggi Shared School" framework, which is the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's educational model.
Under the memorandum, the two institutions will aim to realize customized education for nurturing future talent, and over the next two years they plan to build education infrastructure that reflects local characteristics and jointly promote customized education programs for students within the jurisdiction.
Based on this, the city plans to strengthen the foundation for educational cooperation in which schools, the local community, and the Office of Education communicate closely. By systematically supporting the entire process of student growth, from basic academic skills to career and college guidance and future competency education, the city intends to leap forward as a fully fledged "future education city."
In addition, through this memorandum, the two institutions will finalize the detailed projects and budget scale to be implemented this year and will fully launch Paju City's own differentiated educational cooperation model.
Major projects will include a total of 25 programs, such as nurturing talent through high school-university linkage, customized career and college guidance education for students, support for creative experiential activities for middle school students, and school-community linked curricula.
The total project cost to be invested will amount to 2.46 billion won (1.93 billion won from Paju City and 530 million won from the Office of Education).
An official from Paju City said, "This memorandum of understanding will serve as a solid foundation for our students to nurture their dreams and grow within the community of Paju," adding, "We will continue to work closely with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education to build Paju into a future education city where everyone enjoys high-quality educational benefits."
