At the meeting, participants raised issues such as inconvenience to traffic and harm to the cityscape caused by the operation of a shared general waste collection site, as well as ways to utilize international students as manpower.
In response, the city explained that, regarding the shared collection site, it has decided to switch from the existing method to a "door-to-door collection system" and has completed consultations with the collection company.
However, the standard collection site currently used jointly by nearby businesses and residents will be maintained, and the city plans to review future operating conditions to determine whether additional improvements are needed.
With respect to utilizing international students as manpower, the city informed attendees that, under Ministry of Justice guidelines, international students holding a D-2 visa are only allowed part-time employment within the scope compatible with their studies, and that they are restricted from engaging in high-intensity work such as simple loading and unloading.
