"24th Wanju Samnye Strawberry Festival" to Be Held from March 6 to 8

Wanju-gun will herald the beginning of spring by holding the 24th Wanju Samnye Strawberry Festival for three days from March 6 to 8 at the public parking lot behind Samnye Nonghyup.

This festival, hosted by Wanju-gun and organized by Samnye Nonghyup and the Wanju Cultural Foundation, was selected as an excellent festival in the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Local Specialized Festival Support Project competition, securing 28 million won in provincial funding. Based on this, the county will promote richer and more substantial programs than in previous years.

Now in its 24th year, the Samnye Strawberry Festival is designed as a participatory festival that widely promotes the excellence of Samnye strawberries, the region's representative agricultural specialty product, and brings together residents and consumers. Samnye strawberries, which have gained nationwide recognition, boast outstanding sweetness and freshness, captivating the taste buds of many visitors every year.

During the festival, a variety of events that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age or gender, will be held at the venue, including strawberry harvesting experiences, tastings of strawberry desserts and processed foods, sales booths for local agricultural specialties, family-oriented experience programs, and stage performances. In particular, the festival plans to enhance hands-on content for family visitors accompanied by children, providing both enjoyment and lasting memories.

In addition, to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for visitors, the county plans to thoroughly prepare measures such as operating shuttle buses, expanding nearby parking lots, running rest areas, and strengthening safety management.
