On the 23rd, in the reception room of City Hall, Mayor Yuk Donghan signed a memorandum of understanding with Education Director Jang Jinho, attended by about 10 officials from both institutions, to train Bomnae Kkumnamu (Spring River Dream Tree) gardeners and promote garden culture.

Under this agreement, Chuncheon City and the Chuncheon Office of Education will establish a close cooperative system to create a lakeside garden city through garden education. To support this project, the city will provide instructors, materials, support for school garden maintenance, and access to garden facilities managed by Chuncheon City. The Office of Education has agreed to provide administrative support by informing each school about the project and selecting schools to participate as part of the kindergarten, elementary, and secondary education curricula.

Previously, Chuncheon City successfully completed a pilot program to train Bomnae Kkumnamu gardeners last year at two schools: Gangwon Myeongjin School and the Chuncheon National University of Education Affiliated Elementary School. This year, a total of 11 schools will participate, and the city plans to train about 250 Bomnae Kkumnamu gardeners.

Mayor Yuk Donghan of Chuncheon said, "Through this agreement, 'Chuncheon, the Garden City' will take its first step toward becoming 'Chuncheon, the Garden Education City,'" adding, "Based on continued exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions, I expect this will become a major driving force in enhancing Chuncheon's value as a truly complete garden city."

Education Director Jang Jinho said, "Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will systematically expand garden education linked to kindergarten, elementary, and secondary curricula, and actively support students so that they can grow together with nature in their daily lives."
