Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it will support the "Namyangju School Uniform Bank" regional intensive school uniform sale event, which is being held from the 21st until March 2.

Namyangju City Supports Intensive School Uniform Sale by "Namyangju School Uniform Bank" for New School Year Joo Kwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju, toured the site of the regionally held "Namyangju School Uniform Bank" special school uniform sale on the 21st. Provided by Namyangju City.

This event has been organized ahead of the new school year to promote a culture of school uniform reuse, in order to ease the financial burden on parents and raise awareness of environmental conservation.

To improve accessibility for students and parents, the event will be operated sequentially by region, starting with the Onam area, followed by the Hopyeong-Pyeongnae area, the Jinjeop area, and the Hwado area.

The Namyangju School Uniform Bank has been carrying out the school uniform reuse program since 2015 with budget support from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. It collects school uniforms from graduates of local middle and high schools, then sells them after antimicrobial washing and inspection at prices within 5,000 won per item, receiving a very positive response from students and parents.

The city will provide rental support by offering the main conference rooms of regional Administrative Welfare Centers as venues for the school uniform sale events. In addition, in cooperation with the Namyangju Volunteer Center, it will provide trucks for transporting school uniform items and volunteers to help create a stable on-site operating environment.

Joo Kwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju City, said, "The School Uniform Bank is a meaningful project that reduces the financial burden on parents and spreads a culture of resource recycling and sharing in the local community," adding, "The city will actively communicate and continue to provide the necessary support so that the activities of the School Uniform Bank can be further revitalized."
