Four Vietnamese Students Arrive to Enroll at Korea Energy Meister High School

The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on the 23rd that four Vietnamese students who are set to enroll at Korea Energy Meister High School for the 2026 school year arrived in South Korea through Incheon International Airport on the 22nd.

This admission marks the first outcome of the overseas international student program promoted by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education. It was made possible through cooperation with the Center for International Education Development (CIED) under the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, and was carried out through local information sessions and selection procedures.

The students who have arrived will participate in an orientation and pre-adaptation program in February and will then be officially admitted as first-year students at Korea Energy Meister High School as of March 1, completing the regular curriculum.

To ensure the stable settlement of the international students, the office plans to operate a community adaptation program, intercultural understanding education, local cultural experience activities, and an intensive Korean language support program, thereby enhancing the sustainability of their studies and their level of adjustment to school.

Based on this case, the provincial office of education plans to closely analyze the program’s performance and to gradually promote the stable establishment and qualitative enhancement of the overseas international student program.
