Paju City in Gyeonggi Province held a final report meeting on the 20th for the "Unjeong Jungang Station Cultural Performance Complex Development Feasibility Study and Basic Plan Establishment Project."

The meeting was attended by about 15 participants, including Paju Mayor Kim Kyoungil, experts in related fields, and officials from the Paju Cultural Foundation. A comprehensive report was delivered on the main outcomes of the study carried out so far, the results of the project feasibility analysis, and future implementation plans.


The "Unjeong Jungang Station Cultural Performance Complex Development" project is being promoted to expand cultural infrastructure in the region and thereby increase opportunities for residents to enjoy cultural activities. The main tasks of this study include: analysis of the local cultural environment and demand; review of the site and development conditions; research on comparable cases; planning of the project scale and spatial layout; analysis of economic and policy feasibility; and preparation of funding, operation, and management plans.


According to the draft basic plan, the facility will be developed as a multi-purpose cultural complex centered on a performance hall capable of hosting both large-scale and small-scale performances, and will include exhibition spaces and cultural education rooms.


Director General of Culture and Education Kim Taehun stated, "Based on the feasibility analysis results and expert opinions presented at this final report meeting, we will further enhance the executability of the project," adding, "We will systematically promote the project so that the Unjeong Jungang Station Cultural Performance Complex can become a landmark building symbolizing Paju City and a key piece of infrastructure that improves citizens' quality of life."


Paju City plans to incorporate the opinions presented at this final report meeting, refine the basic plan, and then proceed step by step with related administrative procedures, including the feasibility study and the Local Financial Investment Review.
