Winter Maintenance Completed...Providing a Pleasant and Safe Camping Environment
Hapcheon-gun in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 20th that the Hwangmaesan Forest Campsite will resume operations on March 6, after being closed for the winter season.
The Hwangmaesan Forest Campsite had been closed for the winter season and facility maintenance from December 1 last year to March 5, and has now completed safety inspections and environmental maintenance in preparation for visitors. Reservation applications for March use were accepted from February 8 to 12.
Reservations are accepted through the Hwangmaesan County Park section of the Hapcheon-gun Office website during the beginning of each month (from the 8th to the 12th), and are processed by lottery. Only those selected in the lottery will have their reservations confirmed, and any remaining rooms or cancellations after the lottery will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The campsite is equipped with a variety of accommodation and camping facilities, including 11 camper houses, 15 caravans, and 31 tent sites. In particular, the caravan area features a “Work+Vacation” space with a community office, and is operated as a stay-type tourist destination where visitors can enjoy both work and relaxation in nature.
The campsite is closed regularly every Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition, it is scheduled to be closed from May 1 to 11 (tentative) during the Hwangmaesan Azalea Festival period to ensure visitor safety management and the smooth operation of the festival.
Along with this, the Nanum Cart service, introduced to improve convenience for viewing Hwangmaesan, will begin operating on March 5. The Nanum Cart can be used after registering at the Hwangmaesan Tourist Information Center, and operates mainly to the azalea colony in spring and the silver grass colony in autumn. The operating schedule is subject to change depending on internal circumstances or weather conditions.
An official from Hapcheon-gun said, “With the resumption of campsite operations, we will do our best in facility maintenance and safety management so that visitors can use the facilities safely.”
