Kakao Scores High in S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment

In this year’s assessment, Kakao scored 76 points in the Interactive Media, Services & Home Entertainment (IMS) industry group, up 6 points from last year, placing it within the top 5%. Kakao explained that this score corresponds to second place among 148 companies in the industry group. There are a total of five Korean companies ranked in the top 5% by industry group, and in the IMS industry group, Kakao is the only one.

Kakao received excellent evaluations across a wide range of items in governance, environment, and society.

S&P Global conducts a comprehensive annual evaluation of companies’ environmental, social, and governance performance, selects leading companies by industry, and publishes a Sustainability Yearbook. The CSA is a key indicator used to assess a company’s level of sustainable management, evaluating both the reliability of disclosures and the effectiveness of execution. This year, 848 companies were included in the yearbook out of more than 9,200 companies assessed across 59 industry groups.

Kakao stated, “We plan to continue strengthening ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management in line with global standards and to establish ourselves as a company that creates a sustainable future together with our stakeholders.”
