At this conference, the research team led by Professor Shin Hakseung of the Department of Tourism at Hanyang University received the Grand Prize in the General Research Paper category, the Grand Prize in the International Research Paper category, and the Special Best Paper Award from the Chungbuk Research Institute.

The paper titled "Analysis of the Regional Economic Effects of Tourism Considering Spatial Heterogeneity and Policy Implications for a Qualitative Transition," authored by researchers Park Juran, Lee Jeonghee, and Jang Seonwoo together with Professor Shin Hakseung, and which simultaneously won the Best Paper Award in the General Research Paper category and the Special Best Paper Award from the Chungbuk Research Institute, focused on the fact that the economic ripple effects of tourism differ by region.

Through econometric analysis that reflects spatial characteristics, the research team pointed out the limitations of the existing "quantitative growth" indicators centered on the number of tourists. They then proposed a policy shift toward "high value-added qualitative tourism" based on length of stay and level of spending.

The Best Paper Award in the International Research Paper category went to Professor Shin Hakseung and researchers Cho Jihyun and Han Jihye. They presented the concept of a "Tourism Renaissance," arguing that tourism will become a core domain that goes beyond simple leisure to reconstruct the very purpose of human life.

Professor Shin Hakseung said, "Going forward, we will continue to conduct research that academically identifies the new roles of tourism amid technological advancement and social change, and that can contribute to policy and to the tourism industry on the ground."
