Achieved 139% of Fundraising Target
Driven by Voluntary Participation of Businesses and Residents
Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul (Mayor Choi Hogwon) announced on the 20th that it had raised 3.06 billion won in cash donations and donated goods through the "2026 Hope Ondol Warm Winter" fundraising campaign, which it ran for three months from November 15 last year to February 14 this year.

This is the largest amount ever. The district achieved 139% of its initial target of 2.2 billion won and exceeded last year's fundraising total of 2.876 billion won. This was made possible by the voluntary participation of local businesses, organizations, and residents, despite difficult economic conditions such as the economic downturn and rising prices.
Hope Ondol Warm Winter is a winter sharing campaign jointly run by Yeongdeungpo District and the Community Chest of Korea, Seoul Office, with the aim of closing welfare blind spots and supporting low-income residents. The district held a launch ceremony on November 17 last year to kick off the campaign and created a participatory atmosphere by holding "Warm Neighborhood Sharing" events in 18 neighborhoods.
Corporate donations also followed one after another. Cheongdam Global Co., Ltd. donated health supplements, masks, and cosmetics worth about 360 million won, and Hyper Life Care Co., Ltd. donated hygiene products worth about 200 million won. Hyundu Trading Co., Ltd. and BYC Co., Ltd. joined the donations again this year following last year. This year, the district also introduced a system in which card tag-type donation terminals were installed inside the district office building, allowing a preset amount to be donated automatically when a credit card is tapped.
The funds raised are used to support living expenses for low-income households, educational expenses for children and adolescents, and emergency crisis households, while donated goods are delivered to households in need through local community centers and social welfare institutions.
Mayor Choi Hogwon of Yeongdeungpo District said, "This achievement is the result of warm sharing created jointly by businesses and residents," adding, "We will continue to create an environment for donations and sharing that anyone can easily participate in, and realize welfare in partnership with the local community."
