Deputy Prime Minister Bae Kyunghun Holds Bilateral Meeting with Anthropic CEO at India AI Summit

Attending as Korea's head delegate...kicking off full-fledged AI diplomacy

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 19th that Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Technology and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyunghun attended the "2026 India AI Impact Summit" held in New Delhi, India as the head of the Korean delegation and held meetings with global artificial intelligence (AI) companies including Anthropic.

The India AI Impact Summit is the fourth top-level international event in the AI field, following those hosted by the United Kingdom, Korea, and France. At this summit, participating countries discussed voluntary efforts and cooperation measures to ensure that AI can expand into emerging and developing countries and help close gaps between nations.

Deputy Prime Minister Bae attended the head-of-delegation session of the India AI Impact Summit and stressed the importance of an AI vision that connects to the value of the common prosperity of humanity.

In addition, during the summit schedule, Deputy Prime Minister Bae held a bilateral meeting with Dario Amodei, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the global AI company Anthropic. Deputy Prime Minister Bae discussed the future industrial impact and outlook of "Claude Cowork," an agentic AI unveiled by Anthropic last month, as well as cooperation in the field of AI safety.

On the second day of the India AI Impact Summit, on the 20th, Deputy Prime Minister Bae will chair the Ministerial Council of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), while also holding bilateral meetings with major countries.
