An accident occurred in a mountain forest in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, in which a man in his 80s died after being struck in the head by a falling tree while logging.

At around 9:20 a.m. on the 15th, Mr. A (89) was cutting down a tree in a mountain forest in Daehoji-myeon, Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, when he was hit in the head by the falling tree.

Mr. A was taken to a nearby hospital in a state of cardiac arrest after his son reported the incident, but he ultimately died.

The police believe that Mr. A and his son had come to the site to cut trees for firewood during the Lunar New Year holiday and that the accident occurred there, and they are investigating the exact circumstances.
