"Real Estate Prices Won't Be Controlled Through SNS... The Real Problem Is Surging Monthly Rents": Joo Jinwoo Targets President Lee

Joo Jinwoo Says Policies Are "Following the Moon Administration's Failures"
Criticizes "High-Ranking Officials as Multiple-Home Owners"

"Real Estate Prices Won't Be Controlled Through SNS... The Real Problem Is Surging Monthly Rents": Joo Jinwoo Targets President Lee Joo Jinwoo, People Power Party lawmaker. Kim Hyunmin, reporter.

Joo Jinwoo, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, criticized President Lee Jaemyung, who has been continuously sharing his real estate policies and views on social media (SNS), saying, "Real estate prices cannot be controlled through SNS, and the real problem is the surge in monthly rents."

On the 14th, through his own social media account, Assemblyman Joo addressed President Lee, who had described himself as a "single-home owner," saying, "I have no intention of pressuring President Lee to sell his house. Please go ahead and fully enjoy the reconstruction profits after you leave office."

Assemblyman Joo said that an explanation is needed as to what differentiates the current real estate policy from that of the Moon Jaein administration, when housing prices soared. He argued that President Lee Jaemyung’s real estate policy has led to a spike in monthly rents, stating, "This is the aftermath of excessive restrictions on loans and demand. Ordinary people are suffering from the balloon effect," and added, "When President Lee ran for the National Assembly, he promised the people that he would sell his house. He even put it on the market. This is not something he can now reverse and still speak so loudly about."

He also criticized the fact that a significant number of high-ranking officials in the Lee Jaemyung administration own multiple homes. Assemblyman Joo said, "Even though the policymakers confidently claim that housing prices will fall, even President Lee does not sell his own 'vacant house,'" and added, "Who could trust such policies? They are following the Moon administration’s failures. Patchwork stopgap measures will not solve the problem."

Lastly, Assemblyman Joo demanded, "Since you are already active on SNS, please explain how your policies differ from the failures of the Moon administration."
