Motif And Trillion Labs Apply For Additional Call For 'National AI' Project

Final selection of one team to be made within this month

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 12th that, as a result of the additional call for one more elite team for the 'Independent Artificial Intelligence (AI) Foundation Model' project, proposals from two consortia have been received.

The consortia that submitted proposals in this additional call are the consortium led by Motif Technologies and the consortium led by Trillion Labs.

This additional call was conducted after two teams, including Naver Cloud and NC AI, were eliminated in the first round of evaluations for the Independent AI Foundation Model project.

In order to guarantee a development period for the AI model that is equivalent to that of the other elite teams, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to conduct a phased evaluation around early August. Specifically, the three existing elite teams will develop their AI models from January to June, while the additionally selected team will carry out development from February to July, and all of them will undergo a phased evaluation together in early August.

The selected elite team will be provided with resources equivalent to 768 units of Nvidia's 'B200' graphics processing units (GPUs). It will also receive support at the same level as the existing elite teams, including joint data purchasing, support for data construction and processing, and the granting of the 'K-AI Enterprise' designation.

The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to review the suitability of the submitted documents and conduct evaluations by external experts within this month, and then announce the results of the additional call for one more elite team.
